1. Overview
BuildUI, Inc. (“BuildUI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools that convert screenshots, images, documents, prompts, and other materials into user interface designs and code. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use buildui.pro, our applications, communications, and related services (the “Service”).
This policy applies to account holders, website visitors, people invited through referral links, and individuals whose information is submitted to our support channels. It does not replace the privacy terms of third-party services you choose to connect, such as Google, GitHub, Stripe, or OpenAI.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and profile information: name, username, email address, profile image, preferred language, password hash, and account settings.
- Project content: prompts, screenshots, images, PDFs, source code, generated code, project titles, and generation instructions.
- Billing information: plan, billing cycle, transaction status, tax and billing country, and payment-method metadata. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by BuildUI.
- Support and research: messages, attachments, feedback, survey responses, and troubleshooting details you choose to send.
- Referral information: referral codes, invite status, reward-credit activity, and fraud-prevention signals.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, device and browser type, operating system, language, time zone, referring pages, and session identifiers.
- Service activity such as tools opened, features used, generation settings, credit estimates and consumption, exports, errors, and performance data.
- Security events such as successful and failed sign-ins, connected-account changes, active sessions, and suspected abuse.
- Browser storage and cookie data used for authentication, preferences, reliability, and fraud prevention.
Information from third parties
When you connect Google or GitHub, we receive the identifiers, verified email, display name, avatar, and permissions you authorize. Stripe or another payment processor provides transaction status and limited payment metadata. OpenAI receives only the prompt and files included in a generation request.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service; authenticate users; store and organize projects; run AI-assisted generation; calculate credits; process subscriptions; deliver exports; send transactional email; respond to support; prevent fraud and misuse; measure performance; and comply with law.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, consent for optional activities, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
We may send product announcements and educational messages where permitted. You can opt out of marketing email, but we will still send essential account, billing, security, and service communications.
4. AI processing and project content
We send the project inputs and instructions necessary to fulfill a generation request to selected AI and infrastructure providers. Inputs may be transformed, segmented, resized, or temporarily cached to produce output. BuildUI requests that OpenAI not store the API response (`store: false`) and does not operate its own model-training pipeline using private projects. OpenAI's current API data controls and legally required safety retention remain governed by OpenAI's terms.
You should upload only content you have the right to use and should avoid including secrets, credentials, regulated data, or unnecessary personal information in prompts or files. AI output may reproduce patterns or inaccuracies and should be reviewed before production use.
We may use de-identified and aggregated service metrics to improve routing, safety, reliability, and product quality. We apply measures intended to prevent this data from being linked back to an individual account.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed with:
- Service providers for cloud hosting, databases, secure file storage, AI inference, email delivery, customer support, error monitoring, fraud prevention, and payments.
- Connected services when you request an account sign-in, payment, or another available integration action.
- Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or establish legal claims.
- Transaction participants in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice obligations.
Projects are private by default and downloads require an authenticated account. BuildUI does not offer public project sharing at launch.
6. Retention and deletion
We retain account information while your account is active and for a limited period afterward for security, dispute resolution, tax, and legal obligations. Unattached input uploads are removed on the configured short schedule (24 hours by default). Projects and generated source remain until you delete the project or ask us to delete the account, unless law requires longer retention.
When you delete a project, or request account deletion through support, we remove covered data from active systems within a reasonable period. Backups, fraud records, financial records, and legally required logs may remain for limited periods and are isolated from ordinary use. Temporary generation files and failed uploads are automatically removed on shorter schedules.
You can export supported project data before deletion. Ending a subscription does not automatically delete your account.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the nature of the information we handle, including encrypted network transport, account-level access controls, session management, private application storage, secrets management, logging, and dependency review. Storage encryption at rest depends on the configured hosting and backup provider. No system is perfectly secure. Protect your password, review active devices, and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal information, and to appeal a privacy decision. You may update profile details, email addresses, connected accounts, password, sessions, and language preferences from your account settings.
To make a request, email info@buildui.pro from the address associated with your account. We may verify your identity and authority before responding. Authorized agents may submit a request where local law permits. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
You can control browser storage through your browser settings. Clearing or blocking storage used for authentication may sign you out or prevent other core account features from working.
9. International transfers
BuildUI and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or comparable transfer mechanisms, together with technical and organizational protections.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot legally consent. If you believe a child submitted information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service, law, or our practices change. We will post the revised version and update the effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice through the Service or by email where appropriate.
12. Contact
Questions or requests can be sent to info@buildui.pro. BuildUI, Inc. is the controller of personal information covered by this policy unless a separate agreement identifies another controller.
Before commercial launch, company address, jurisdiction-specific disclosures, subprocessors, actual retention schedules, and the data-protection contact should be reviewed by qualified counsel and aligned with deployed systems.
